I bought Simon's book Start With Why back in 2013 I think. At that time I was trying to reinvent myself and my business. I created my first WHY and posted a video of it on my website. I had a guy that was working with me tell me I should take it down.
I didn't take it down, but made it harder to find on my site instead of a link in the navigation. Anyhow, a year ago, I started a beta group to practice helping business owners build a more successful business through stronger business management systems. After a quarter with a handful of clients, they were struggling. At this time I reread the book. Then I tried inspiring to read the book and apply these ideas to their business. Anyhow, they never did.
I since then have reworked my WHY and started the Business Success Movement to help business owners fail less, succeed more, create businesses they can sell, and build philanthropy into their business model.
My first WHY was about the results I was seeking. The second crack at it a year ago was warming things up and getting closer. I have been more focused in the last 7 months then I have in the last 18+ years of owning my business (or at least the last 15 years for sure).
My facebook group, the Business Success Movement is now starting to read Start With WHY as a group to inspire more business owners to gain an understanding of this idea. I obviously want to give them more clarity and focus for reach success in the 4 areas I mentioned.
Anyhow, through discussing how we were going to roll out the reading and group discussion, one of our members shared this recording/interview. Although I have heard Simon share many of these stories before, the interviewee added a new twist to some of them and asked some great questions to get an even better idea for this stuff.
I think this is great and I am excited this was shared in our group. I look forward to more of our members listening to this and more members reading the book. I am hoping to also inspire them to get started creating their WHY and sharing it with others.
So I appreciate this interview. It was great and you touched on a few new areas to help a semi-experienced guy get more value out of this concept. Thank you!

The answers can often seem elusive or uncertain.Though there are many paths to follow into the unknown future, there is one way that dramatically increases the chances we will enjoy the journey. To travel with someone we trust. We can try to build a successful career or a happy life alone, but why would we?Together is better. This unique and delightful little book makes the point that together is better in a quite unexpected way.
